The purpose of the first visit is to discuss your health concerns and condition(s), explain everything we can in advance, and perform an examination and history. This is where we focus on identifying the likely cause of your problem and developing a treatment plan to repair, correct, and improve your condition. Sometimes x-rays are recommended, but if you have any old or new x-rays or MRI reports, please bring them as they may help the doctor. There can be a lot of information, but if we have time, the doctor will get started with treatment to try and get you some relief.
After we study your health history and correlate our examination findings on your second visit, we’ll create a treatment plan designed to help you get and keep your health. We also focus on your daily living and discuss such things as postural awareness, ergonomics, nutrition, and prescribed exercises. Your body needs to go through a care plan to reduce any pain or discomfort, improve mobility and correct itself. Pain-relief and corrective care plans can include a few or several visits similar to what you might experience under physical therapy. Prescribed care helps facilitate healing the muscles and other tissues to prevent additional pain, injury, flare-ups, regression, and early wear and tear on the body.
Regular visits may only require a few highly-focused minutes after the investment of time needed on the first and second visits. We can quickly check your spine and nervous system, adjust you, and get you on your way with the groundwork laid. Similar to working out or physical therapy treatment plans, each visit builds on the ones before. When you miss a visit, and we can lose the progress necessary to make the needed changes. We know your time is valuable. We do the best we can to run on time and minimize the impact on your busy life.
